Sharon Oiga: Type Tales Chicago
Sharon Oiga, Associate Professor and Chair of UIC Graphic Design, will present at a two-day conference hosted by Type Magazine.
The two-day conference will feature stories of Chicago’s letterforms—past, present, future. It starts with a day of explorations: studio and walking tours through Chicago’s typographic destinations and workshops by John Downer, Roger Black, and others. The day will end with a reception and talk by type historian, Paul Shaw. On Friday, presentations by and conversations continue with Jennifer Farrell, Rick Valicenti, Sharon Oiga, Guy Villa Jr, and Jackson Cavanaugh. Moderated by Northwestern University’s Susan Mango Curtis.
